Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) today announced that The Westin Snowmass Resort will open a month ahead of schedule with Nov. 15 confirmed as the new opening date.

The early completion of the $55 million renovation will allow the resort to open just prior to the Thanksgiving holiday and opening day of the ski season.
The Westin Snowmass is replacing the Silvertree this winter.

In addition, adjacent to the Westin Resort, the completely remodeled 153-room Wildwood Snowmass will re-open this winter. The property has been completely refashioned as a retro ski lodge and will include a branded New Belgium Bar.

“We are thrilled that the remodel is ahead of schedule and are hoping for the same result with early season snow,” said John Curnow, general manager of The Westin Snowmass Resort.

Formerly known as the Silvertree Hotel & Conference Center, the 254-room resort is putting the finishing touches on a complete renovation of all guest rooms and public areas in order to implement the full suite of Westin signature amenities, designed to inspire well-being.

The Westin is owned by a joint venture between Starwood Capital Group and Wasserman Real Estate.

The Westin Snowmass Resort features 254 rooms including its 17 suite offerings, all with spectacular slope-side views. The resort’s brand-new restaurant – The Snowmass Kitchen – will offer all-day dining with easy ski-in/ski-out access. The new Westin Snowmass Resort will feature a first-class spa facility and a brand-new fitness center overlooking Snowmass Village. The fully renovated 20,000 square-foot conference center already re-opened for business this summer.

Located in the heart of Snowmass, The Westin Snowmass Resort offers ski-in/ski-out access to Snowmass Mountain and is steps away from the shops and restaurants on the Snowmass Mall.
