Wilco opens up Jazz Aspen Snowmass on the right note

Wilco put on a strong performance at the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day festival Friday night in Snowmass Village.

Also performing on Friday were The Calexico, Devotchka and The New Mastersounds.

"Don't even think of yelling 'Free Bird.' You can wait another 24 hours," singer Jeff Tweedy joked to the crowd.

On Saturday, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings play at 3 p.m., the Court Yard Hounds play at 5 p.m., and Glenn Frey & Joe Walsh of the Eagles return to their old Aspen stomping grounds to headline at 7:15 p.m. In between main stage acts, Lubriphonic will play at the Aspen Music Club.

On Sunday, Truth & Salvage Co. warms the crowd up beginning at 3 p.m., then The Black Crowes take the stage at 5 p.m. followed by Lynyrd Skynyrd at 7:15 p.m. The Stone Foxes will be playing in between the main stage acts on the side stage, aka the Aspen Music Club.
