Snowmass showcases 'paint drops in the sky'

Snowmass Village — The balloon festival attracted a good-sized crowd here today, as families and friends gathered in Town Park to watch what the master of ceremonies aptly called "paint drops in the sky."

The spectacular colors and designs on the balloons were set off magnificently against the morning's clear blue sky and alpine surroundings.

One balloon was all about Colorado ...

Another balloon took a regional, or Western, approach ...

This balloon showcases the almighty rat ...

There was something magical about the unicorn balloon ...

There were colors ...

Unusual shapes ...

Flowers ....

Fire .....

And face-painting!

Ah! Beautiful! This was one of the best balloon festivals Snowmass has brought us. On a terrific day and backdrop of brilliant blue sky!

Wonderful photos. Nice job, Mr. Hooper.
