Sold-out concert triggers bomb threat, arrest

Police traced a bomb threat at the Belly Up on Tuesday night to a man who was denied entry to the sold-out Zeds Dead show. Asa Robinson, 29, is facing multiple charges.

Officers were at the venue conducting a routine walk-through at about 10 p.m. when the threat was reported. Within minutes, police identified Robinson as the perpetrator. Officers evacuated the building so it could be searched but they did not find any suspicious packages or devices. Patrons and employees were sheltered in RFTA buses.

The concert resumed after the search.

Police located Robinson after the evacuation when he tried to enter the venue a second time. Police said Robinson became combative and struck an officer in the head.

Robinson — who police say didn't have a ticket to the show — was arrested and booked into the Pitkin County Jail. He faces charges of assault on a peace officer, menacing, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, false reporting of an explosive and false reporting to authorities.
