A new endurance race in the on-going Power of Four Series — a 50k trail-running race covering each of the four Aspen/Snowmass mountains -- will be held on Sunday, Aug. 4.

This race joins the already popular and upcoming Power of Four Mountain Bike Race, Saturday, Aug. 3 and the winter classic, Power of Four Ski Mountaineering Race. Final race course details and GPS track for the new Power of Four 50K are now available online at www.aspensnowmass.com/events-and-activities/events/power-of-four-50k/course-info.

The Power of Four 50K trail race will begin at the base of Aspen Mountain, peak at the Sundeck and follow single-/double-track trails through Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass before finishing in Snowmass base village.

The course will challenge racers with almost 10,000 feet of climbing over 31 miles (50K). The Power of Four Mountain Bike race will follow the same route as previous years with the start in Snowmass base village and finish at Aspen Mountain gondola plaza.

The Power of Four Mountain Bike course is available online at www.aspensnowmass.com/events-and-activities/events/power-of-four-mountain-bike-race/course-info.

Each race will feature a solo category with the run being a full 50K and relay options for teams to split the race. Teams of two will have a transition relay point at the base of Tiehack for both races. There will also be relay teams of four with each team member tackling one of the four mountains.

Racer Information:

Each race will award a $2,500 prize purse. The top three men and women finishers will be paid out of the purse. All registered racers will receive a Helly Hansen Cool Tee and finishers will receive a custom gift with the race logo.

Aspen Skiing Company is offering 50 percent off vouchers for family members of racers who wish to watch/cheer from the top of Aspen Mountain or the top of Elk Camp Gondola. Vouchers will be available at registration.

There will be an after party and award ceremony both days. The Power of Four Mountain Bike race after party will be hosted at Ajax Tavern in Aspen gondola plaza on Saturday, Aug. 3.

The Power of Four 50K trail race after party will take place at Base Camp in Snowmass base village on Sunday, Aug. 4. The award ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. both days in their respective locations mentioned above.

Online registration is available at www.aspensnowmass.com/poweroffour.

The early registration pricing ends on July 28. Online registration will close Aug. 1 at 5 p.m. with on-site registration available on Aug. 2. No race day registration is available.

Registration will be at the Aspen Mountain ticket office and open Friday, Aug. 2 from noon to 7 p.m. as well as Saturday, Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All racers must be checked in the day prior to their start.
